My name is Leah.
I'm a photographer and pastry chef living in Los Angeles, CA. I grew up in Honolulu, HI, where my diverse and multi-generational upbringing inspired my love for photography, culture, people, and their stories.
For as long as I can remember, I've been compelled to find some method of facilitating connection, understanding, and equality, and have worked towards life experiences in service to that end. Studying and traveling around the world has deeply informed my understanding of its inequities, and especially how those disparities impact the young and aging, gender and ethnic minorities, and the environment.
At the same time, my experiences have illustrated how food is a powerful universal connector that works beyond language and perceived cultural barriers. For example, bread is a central and symbolic food in many cultures and breaking bread together is, at its core, an act of generosity and peace.
I seek to find and cultivate meaningful, genuine connections with people and our environment, to document and share their stories through collaboration, photography, and food.
Let's break bread together.
